Bob Wisler - fCIO

Bob Wisler, senior consultant at FraCIOnal, has over 30 years of technology expertise and has spent more than two decades serving as the Senior IT Leader at three different colleges and universities. Leveraging Bob’s experience as a fractional Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides small to medium sized businesses, with roughly 50 to 500 employees, access to Senior IT leadership at a fraction of the cost of a full time C-suite employee.


Bob’s Experience:


  • 25 years leading IT teams of up to 65 employees
  • 20 years managing IT projects and budgets of over $5MM annually
  • Spearheaded digitization and modernization initiatives, embedded organization’s strategic plan into digital planning process, and realized long-term impacts of digital transformation, data literacy, and operations excellence.
  • Contributed a cumulative $7M savings through software, hardware, and telecomm vendor negotiations; generated $250K+ in revenue from cell tower agreements.
  • Led learning system, portal, SSO, wireless, VoIP, and document imaging implementations, SaaS/cloud migrations, server farm virtualization, and website overhauls to improve costs and performance.
  • Headed IT aspects of construction/renovation and infrastructure upgrade projects for academic, administrative, residence, and athletic buildings, working with constituents and vendors to define design/construction needs.
